WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (BP)--The Wake Forest volleyball team plays host to North Carolina and NC State this weekend. The Demon Deacons take on the Tar Heels Friday at 7 p.m. and the Wolfpack Saturday at 7 p.m. in Reynolds Gym.

The Demon Deacons are recovering from a surprising 0-3 loss to Radford Tuesday night. Wake Forest looks to improve their 1-1 record in the ACC, so far they have a win over Clemson and a loss to Georgia Tech. Wake looks to Senior Trina Maso de Moya, ACC leader in digs, and senior Margaret Davidson, ACC leader in hitting percentages, to lead the Demon Deacon squad. They are 6-4 overall, 1-1 ACC.

The Tar Heels are coming off a 3-0 sweep over UNC-Charlotte on Tuesday night. They currently lead the ACC in blocking as a team and individually by Holly Strauss with 1.92 per game. North Carolina is 9-3 overall, 2-0 ACC.

The Wolfpack celebrated their first ACC win of the 2001 season over Maryland, 3-1. NC State boasts players that are second in the ACC in kills and service aces. Charece Williams posts 4.67 kills per game and Lindi Sheppard has totaled 23 service aces for the season. The Wolfpack is 5-4 overall, 1-1 ACC.

This will be Wake’s first home game since Sept. 1. The Demon Deacons are 9-26 versus North Carolina and 9-19 versus NC State in the all-timeseries records. There will be admission charged: $5 adults, $3 youth and students get in free with their Wake Forest student ID.
