Angie Vaughn (All-MSC and Academic All-MSC) rounds third to score in action during the season.
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (BP)--Coach Bill Moore's Campbellsville University Tiger softball team recently had ten individuals earn a total of twelve slots on the Mid-South Conference honors teams. Catcher Angie Vaughn, a junior from Franklin, Ky., topped the list of Tigers earning conference honors.

Vaughn batted .300 with 14 RBIs and earned a first team slot on the All-Conference team for her play at and behind the plate. In addition Vaughn was one of seven Tigers that earned a slot on the Academic All-Conference squad for her efforts in the classroom. Shortstop Brandy Nuyt, a sophomore from Russellville, Ky. also earned a first team slot on the All-MSC squad for her play in the field. Nuyt had a fielding percentage of .914 and batted .302 with 23 RBIs.

Three Tigers earned Honorable Mention All-MSC. Senior left fielder Jennie Benningfield from Campbellsville, Ky. earned that recognition along with senior pitcher Lacresah Peyton from Frankfort, Ky. and freshman outfielder Regina White from Mt. Pleasant, Texas. White was also one of the seven that earned a slot on the Academic All-Conference team.

The five other players joining Vaughn and White on the academic team gave Campbellsville the second most in the conference behind Cumberland University. Sophomore infielder Jennifer Coomes from Whitesville, Ky.; sophomore infielder Erin Heath from Calhoun, Ky.; sophomore pitcher Jennifer Keys from Brandenburg, Ky.; and sophomore catcher Amanda Stewart from Taylorsville, Ky. joined senior outfielder Jessica Wade from Lebanon, Ky. on the Academic All-Conference team.
