BUIES CREEK, N.C. (BP)--Brian Fisk scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Lipscomb to a 60-56 Atlantic Sun men's basketball victory over Campbell Jan. 5 at Carter Gym.

The Bisons (7-3, 2-1) held Campbell without a field goal for the last five minutes of the game and James Poindexter's three from the right wing with 26 seconds to go proved to be the winning margin.

Poindexter added 12 points and Brandon Hartwell 10 for Lipscomb, which matched its win total from last year (7-21) in just its 10th outing of the year.

Ruell Pringle and Diego Aguiar led Campbell with 15 points each. Dominique Klein added seven points and a game-high 10 rebounds for the Camels (2-9, 0-4), who were missing two starters.

Campbell forward Maurice Latham, the team's second-leading scorer at 9.9 points per game, served a one-game suspension according to A-Sun policy after he was ejected in Monday's loss to Belmont. Sophomore point guard Anthony Atkinson, the team's leading scorer (10.2) over its first 10 games, was declared academically ineligible Wednesday according to NCAA guidelines.

Campbell held its largest lead of the game at 33-26 when Russ Gibson hit a trey with 1:16 left in the opening half. However, the Bisons closed the period on an 8-0 run to lead 34-33 at the break.

Klein's bucket with 5:14 remaining in the contest pushed the Camels in front 54-51, but Campbell was unable to score from the field thereafter. The Camels went 0-7 from the floor and 2-4 from the line while committing three turnovers in the last 4:53 of the game.

Fisk's lay-in with 3:08 to play knotted the score at 56-all, but neither team scored until Poindexter's triple in the last minute. Klein missed a 22-footer with seven seconds left. Brandon Hartwell rebounded, then hit 1-of-2 foul shots with 0:03 left for the final margin.

Campbell shot just 26 percent (7-27) from the field in the second period and ended the game connecting on 38 percent (21-55) of its attempts. Lipscomb hit just 37 percent of its shots (18-49). Campbell held a 41-35 edge on the glass.

The visiting team won for the first time in the series between the A-Sun rivals. Campbell and Lipscomb split the first four games.

Fisk topped the 20-point barrier for the third time in three career games against the Camels. He scored 24 in a Bisons victory last season in Nashville, Tenn., then tallied 26 in a 90-84 loss last February at Carter Gym.
