C-N holds off Anderson

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. (BP)--Sophomore Wes McIntyre and junior Jake McDonald combined to hold Anderson to six hits, as Carson-Newman beat the visiting Trojans 6-1 March 26.

The Eagles pounded out 11 hits to beat the Trojans for the second time in as many games.

Carson-Newman (26-12) grabbed a quick 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

Senior Langdon Potts singled and scored to lead off, coming around on sophomore Derek Long's line-drive single to center. Long would also touch the plate in the inning, scoring on sophomore Corey Lamson's RBI single to right, C-N's third single of the inning.

Eagles starter Wes McIntyre (5-0) work six innings, allowing five hits and one earned run. The Chattanooga native struck out three and recorded 10 fly-ball outs.
