WACO, Texas (BP)-Members of the Baylor women's basketball team delivered stuffed bears Dec. 17 to patients at Hillcrest Hospital.
The team collected hundreds of stuffed bears during its game with Lamar on Dec. 8. The annnual "Bears Care Bear Drive" is sponsored by First National Bank of McGregor South Bosque.
The hospital visit included a stop at Kidsville, the hospital's pediatric unit. After visiting with several patients, the team proceeded to the rehabilitation section of the hospital where they greeted numerous patients, passed out bears and signed and distributed autographed mini-basketballs.
"It was such an awesome experience for us," said freshman guard Lindsay Palmer. "We are so blessed in our lives and to be able to bring some pleasure to people, who are undergoing some hardships and illness, truly warmed our hearts."
