JACKSON, Tenn. (BP)--Brent Fronabarger, the head baseball coach at Union University, earned his 200th career coaching victory April 15 in a 12-2 win over Mid-Continent University.
Fronabarger, a native of Huntingdon, Tenn., began as head coach in 2006. This season, Union has a 33-12 record overall and was ranked as high as seventh in the NAIA rankings.
A 1996 Union graduate, Fronabarger holds several Union pitching records including most victories in a season (13), most victories in a career (33), most strikeouts in a career (306), and most innings in a season (117.2). In 1995, Fronabarger led the team with the lowest earned run average (1.97) and had an 11-2 record. He was drafted out of high school by the Toronto Blue Jays.
In addition to his head coaching duties at Union, Fronabarger teaches in the physical education, wellness, and sport department. He and his wife Sandy have two sons, Brady and Landry. --30--
