Ouachita's Schlesinger qualifies for Olympic swimming trials

PALO ALTO, Calif. (BP)--Ouachita Baptist University swimmer Marcus Schlesinger qualified for the 2012 Olympic trials in a competition at Stanford University.
The ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships were held Aug. 2-6.
Schlesinger became only the second Ouachita swimmer to qualify for the Olympic trials. The other was John Berry, who qualified for the trials in 2000.
Schlesinger qualified to participate in two events at the Olympic trials next summer. He qualified in the 100-meter fly by posting a time of 54.67 seconds and in the 100-meter free by posting a time of 51.36 seconds.
The 2012 Olympic trials will be held June 25-July 2. --30--
