Parker's 31 points prompt initial SAC season honors

PLAINVIEW, Texas (BP)--Wayland Baptist University senior forward Sean Parker has been named the season's first player of the week in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

In the Pioneers' season-opening Nov. 11 win over Huston-Tillotson, the 6-5 senior from Lubbock scored 31 points and pulled down 6 rebounds. He shot 11 of 15 (73%) from the field, including 2 of 2 three-pointers, and was 7 of 8 (88%) from the free throw line.

Southern Nazarene's Theresa Schuknecht was named the women's player of the week.

The initial honors spanned the week of Nov. 6-12.
