Flying Queens snag first win

PLAINVIEW, Texas (BP)--The Flying Queens of Wayland Baptist University captured their first win of the 2000-01 basketball season Friday night by a score of 86-50 over Schreiner College.

The Queens, who shot a blistering 52.5 percent from the field, had four players in double figures. Senior April Jordan-Winn led all scorers with 24 points, including five threes. Rasa Sukeviciute put in 14, followed closely by Cami Rea with 13and Cari Lynn Striddle with 11.

Leigh Anne Owens' 16 points led the Mountaineers, playing in the first game of the season. Anna Cerda wadded 14 more for Schreiner.
