Boston's Masterson an admirer of Pettitte Tuesday, May 5, 2009 By Staff |

BOSTON (BP)--Boston Red Sox pitcher Justin Masterson admires New York Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte not only for his pitching ability, but also because of his faith, according to a Providence Journal article. “He’s a guy that I’ve noticed because I’m a man of strong faith. My faith is what drives me and is my motivation,” Masterson said in the article. “And for me, being an athlete, for me, I like to watch athletes and see who shares that.” Masterson was born in Jamaica, where his parents served as missionaries. His father is now pastor of Creekside Community Church in Dayton, Ohio. --30--
