Giants' Jacobs speaks at FCA banquet at SIU

CARBONDALE, Ill. (BP)--New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs returned to his alma mater recently to speak at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquet at Southern Illinois University.

Jacobs played one season for the Salukis before the Giants drafted him in the first round in 2005.

As part of his remarks, Jacobs offered advice to the students in the audience.

"While you're young and in college, it's a good time to give your life to the Lord," Jacobs said. "While you're in college, I would strongly encourage you to keep God close. It's for your own good. He will make everything happen for you if you give him the chance."
